An Overview of MeRT Treatment
Health First provides a non-invasive breakthrough technology: MeRT or Magnetic EEG-guided Resonance Therapy. MeRT uses gentle magnetic waves to balance and stimulate healthy brain function.
Through the measurement and analysis of brainwave activity, we identify areas of the brain that are functioning improperly and improve these areas by way of gentle magnetic stimulation. In order to discover which portions of the brain are dysregulated a non-invasive assessment will be performed that provides electrical pictures of the brain and maps the patient’s brainwaves. By obtaining these brain maps our providers are now able determine where there are abnormalities in the brain and find the abnormal areas in the brain.

MeRT therapy is a treatment that combines technologies of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS, an FDA cleared therapy), Quantitative Electroencephalogram (qEEG), and Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) to deliver treatments tailored for each individual’s unique brain pattern.
The patient’s EEG and EKG are analyzed to ascertain the brain’s pattern of function, detect brain activity, and determine its state of neural synchronization. The resulting information is used to develop a personalized protocol for each patient, aimed at encouraging healthy brain communication. This can lead to significant clinical improvements.

After obtaining a quantitative EEG/EKG of a patient’s brain wave activity. We have learned that everyone has a unique frequency or unique signature for our brain wave patterns. All of us, during our waking hours, have a brain frequency where our brain operates comfortably. When this pattern is disrupted, a person experiences brain dysfunction, we may find areas of the brain that are not cycling at the same rate as the rest of our brain. This means that a portion of the brain is out of sync with the parts of the brain.
